Re: Wondering about Ketamine
Hey Raynbo, (love the name! :-) )
Ketamine is generally used as a horse tranquiliser.
THE Barefoot Doctor says:
"Ketamine is a strong anaesthetic, conventionally used for child and pet surgery which, if ingested in sufficient quantities, will give you an enforced out-of-body astral journey of such velocity you will either return with the knowledge of the gods/goddesses or the delusions of a mad person.
Prolonged use can play havoc with your urinary-genital system, in some cases making it impossible to urinate for days on end, significantly weaken your liver, damage your vocal chords and depress your immune response.
Enforced astral travel to where is, to all intents and purposes, the realms of death (eternal life), if experienced often enough will lead to morbidity and, in more extreme cases, suicide. This death-attraction state will occur over time even on the lower doses usually taken in social situations."
So i imagine if wanting to use it to suppress anxiety it could cause more anxiety while dosed on it due to the unexpected nature of the experience it can induce.
I certainly had that type of experience of extreme anxiety when i tried MOST organic recreational drugs. (I never tried chemicals) General rule of thumb is if pot makes you anxious - all other recreational drugs will too.
If it's for depression, the journey of the chemical may alter ones depressive state but it possibly could become worse once worn off, possibly leading to a cycle of dependence.
Mushrooms are another rec. drug notorious for accentuating whatever mood one is in.
Happy people have happy trips, anxious people anxious trips, angry people have angry trips.
