I am from India but living in London. I left my lips alone for a year but with semi success, though the condition is manageable, the lips still peel and same crusts and gunk. I thought of visiting your doctor but as you said it didn't cure EC, I have seconds thoughts about it now. I prefer not to apply any more junk on my lips.
