anyone traced their illness to lakes/swimming?

I was reviewing the timeline of how I got sick and remembered an incident about 20 years ago swimming in a lake in NH. I was with 2 other people who weren't affected at all. Very soon after going into the water it felt like I lost all the strength in my muscles/limbs got very heavy and could hardly swim.

A few weeks later I had a crash after drinking alcohol, but maybe the swimming thing was more important.
