Chemical peel, huh? What was the chemical? Not sure how much research you've done across the web in five weeks, but I tend to agree conclusive evidence is sorely lacking. A peek at my compendium of success stories reveals how spotty details are from those who claim to be cured:

peelinglips.wikispaces.com/Success+Stories

I developed EC following lady-inflicted and self-inflicted trauma along with a perfect storm of negative factors which I outlined on the Case Histories page of the wiki, and then it spread later while trying to mitigate the peeling with lip balms and petroleum products.

I feel like someone long ago said here that their doctor told them as long as you've been traumatizing your lips, that's at least how long it will take to heal -- the flipside to that of course is how the hell do you not cause ongoing trauma to the lips? So I'm very curious about these acute-onset cases and if they can be resolved within a few months time, if what the majority of us have is a result of years-long trauma.

I feel that leaving my lips unmoisturized to the best of my ability for a year led to undeniable but sadly negligible progress, but true, I didn't go three years and deal with allergies and exercise like cureforcurezone did. I think it bears repating that cureforcurezone did not have as serious a condition as Daniel or Jaye or the majority of active posters. Also, I think it bears repeating the hypothesis that leaving the lips alone might be the final treatment needed once all other exacerbating factors are dealt with: deficiencies, microbes, allergies/sensitivities, internal inflammation/toxicity, stress/depression, drug/alcohol abuse even.

Especially when you look at seb's pictures and history {//www.curezone.org/forums/am.asp?i=1990824#i1}, you see that this is a very complicated condition that can be awful if you aren't actively treating it. Seb, if you're out there, please give us an update!

Onward,
C.S.
