Re: Results are in! Taking copper didn't raise copper level

Lalobear - My new protocol has been difficult to adjust to... Previously, I was not on Limcomin or SBF and I figured out that those seem to be giving me problems. I still take taurine, zinc, GB3 and Enzaid, MCHC and Magnesium Glycinate (which is the Paramin substitute - I couldn't tolerate the Paramin).

When I first started NB, I was taking supplements without copper and I could clearly tell I was detoxing. I had symptoms like anxiety, dizziness, stomach issues, etc. During the first 8 months of NB, my muscle pain went away completely. Since starting the new protocol with Limcomin and SBF, I had a return in very old symptoms that were not associated with detox. For example, my fibromyalgia was returning - muscle pain, joint pain, insomnia, etc. I know that everyone says it could be "retracing" or a "healing reaction" but at this point, I know what it feels like to detox and I know what it feels like to make myself toxic feeling. After taking a limcomin, I feel like I've had several alcoholic beverages (and I have an alcohol intolerance). I remembered what Ann Louise Gittleman 's book said about not taking ANY copper when trying to detox and so I decided to email Dr. Wilson about it. I asked him twice and the answer I received was basically "Ann Louise Gittleman is simply wrong." I tried to ask him to elaborate as to why its necessary... I asked if it had to do with increasing ceruloplasmin, or if the supplements contain a copper detoxing enzyme that bonds with bio-unavailable copper. He did not respond.

So I reread my Ann Louise Gittleman book and contacted her consultants. She clearly states that if we are copper toxic, we should avoid copper supplements. Ann Louise says we receive enough copper from our diets to suffice and that copper supplements are completely unnecessary. Sooooo... I'm still proceeding with NB, but not with SBF or Limcomin. I'm going to follow Ann Louise's advice in conjunction with my hair analysis results.

So I don't know that it has to do with my copper toxicity or if I am just generally sensitive to copper-supplements but I know that it makes me feel worse (and not in a detox sort of way).
