befurther: Great posts. I wanted to add that I knew a young lady who suffered with schizo type of problems and was on a whole bevy of pharmas in which the doctors changed often and of course with every new doctor came more adjustments. Of the 8 drugs or so she was on I would think that half of them was to control the side-effects from the primary drugs.
Of course not all schizophrenia could be traced to copper overload which can occur in some people. Trying to quantify copper levels through hair testing would be a much better way to address this.
Dr. Carl Pfeiffer was a novel researcher who wrote several key papers and a book that outlined toxic metals as being a possible cause of these reactions. http://orthomolecular.org/hof/2004/cpfeiffer.html
I also read Dr. Abram Hoffer's research concerning adrenochrome as being a causative factor in which high niacin would help. There are many research papers available online.
