Re: Wrong info about Nascent iodine in some Groups

Sorry Ginagirl but it was almost 200 years ago for Lugol's and if there was a patent process in France at the time it would have been a very shaky deal with Napoleon in an out of power. Patenting Lugol's would not help it other than make it more expensive and profitable for someone. It (Lugol's) still would not have the ability to kill malaria in a meaningful way. Iodine in the diet does help in malaria survival but unless it is in the nascent state it can't do the job with severe malaria.

Back in 2006 I was reading the British Journal of Medicine when the following was posted in the letters to the editor:

Severe falciparum malaria in Yemen: Child case fatality is 4 times higher in highlands compared with endemic areas.

There was no answer published only a few negative remarks about why this was even listed in the BJM.

I wrote and explained to the healthcare worked that it was the fact that on the coast there was Iodine in the air, water and vegetables as well as in some seafood in the diets of these children. It was missing in the diets of the children in the highland area. To test this all he had to do was supply Iodine to the children there in the highlands.

If your interest in malaria is more that say our typical armchair quarterback or say football fan who says my college team could beat that pro team then it is a very difficult task you have. There are many steps in getting anyone in the malaria field to even consider a product, especially one that is 200 years old and so common, easy to make and available and yet you are the first to know of it's value in fighting malaria.

It is a long and difficult process, you need a great commitment or to be drawn into the process in such a way that every step seems natural and what you want to do. If it had not been for the close friendship of a missionary, and his desire to find a way to treat malaria that works after his medicines failed I would not have been involved.

He first found the iodine safe and the levels used were safe to him long before he had malaria. He used the iodine for energy and health and to cut down on the salt he needed for the African heat and working in the fields to plant crops for his family and the orphanage. Only after he was comfortable with the iodine did he use it for malaria on himself.
