light sensitivity after exposure to bright light

dear community,

i have tried googling this but haven't found any (pun intended) inSIGHT as to remedies (or causes) of what's going on with my vision...

after one day cleaning out my home's leaky refrigerator and having to endure exposure an inch away from the dual lightbulbs inside, i got a sharp pain in my right eye, and felt stinging (in one, or both eyes) all day

...the stinging has continued and it has been several months...
i can no longer tolerate normal light...
my computer screen which i've had at the same brightness for years, i have had to dim to the point where it's so dim that i have trouble making things out, just to relieve the glare

this morning, even the dimness is not helping...

i can't take any light any more, without the stinging (in one, or both eyes)...

i do need to mention, ashamedly, that i have been on a mega dose of 100,000iu vitamin a for several months--extremely inconsistently though ...so maybe that, not the bright refrigerator light caused this?

i would be grateful if anyone could - *cough* - shed any light on what caused this, and whether it might be permanent ...and if anything might help heal it...

thank you to anyone who read my post...
god bless
