I think it is better to visit a stomatologist, a more specialist for this condition. Also you should know that too much vaseline eventually makes the lips dry. Some very good cremes are Avene Gold cream for lips, Avene cicalfate cream and cicaplast cream. The first two are especially for lips. Topical steroids just suppress the immune system and so the symptoms (peeling lips) are less apparent. They cannot cure the condition. I would recommend starting the natrium muriaticum treatment as soon as possible. If he is a natrium muriaticum type, the results will be immpressive.
