GOUT - Helped by Fasting, Flushing and Iodine

Hello all,

This is a long story. I had fasted for just cleansing my body and mind from September 21st through September 29. I was feeling great and looking great after 8 days of fasting. I had good 7 days of re-feeding and then I had a few days of intense tasks at work and in excitement and being casual about it, I had three to four cups of black tea with milk and sugar. I normally have two per day. I also consume quite a bit of raw nuts everday.

On October 11th I woke up with excruciating pain on my right toe which was swollen as if one ton of iron had dropped on it. I thought I had broken my toe so I went to the emergency room and they ruled it to be gout. They asked me to stay away from red meat and alcohol. That was easy for me since I am a born vegetarian and do not drink alcohol. So after that I went to my regular GP, he did blood and urine tests, which were totally normal. So I did my own study and did following things:

1. Foot Baths
I did footbaths with Epsom Salt 2-3 times a day.

2. Take Turmeric (Huldi)

I take two teaspoons of Turmeric at night before going to sleep with a glass of water.

3. Garlic

I take two cloves of raw garlic diced in small pieces so I can swallow. I just take this after breakfast and dinner with a bit of water to get it down.

4. Black Cherry & Vitamin C
I take two 750mg tablets of Black Cherry extract made by NOW vitamins, this has to be accompanied by Vitamin C, best form is powder form, from Source Naturals called Ascorbic Acid Crystals. I take 1000mg with water and two tablets of Cherry extract. If you get fresh cherries that is the best.

5. Cherry Juices
I take two to three glasses of supermarket brand of Black Cherry and Red Cherry juice.

6. Iodine
I take 10 drops of iodine, Lugol's brand with water first thing every morning. Amke sure Vitamin C is taken two to three hours afterwards. When I had severe pain, I took 50 drops.

7. Liver Flush

Lastly I did Liver Flush after fasting for two days and my toe became totally normal, flexible as ever. Also I got rid of 50 dark green stones from my GB. That was on October 27th.

So after I felt so good, I went to being careful and not eating all foods I should not. But on last Thursday I felt like drinking black tea with Stevia and some roasted nuts. Saturday morning the same swelling appeared on my toe with unbearable pain.

I did all my 7 steps all day on Saturday and now I feel better, but can’t help to think…..

What has changed in my body that I cannot drink tea or eat nuts anymore?

What has happened to my kidneys that are not getting out all the uric acid from my blood?

Why don’t the blood or urine tests show that I do have an issue with uric acid?

The only thing had changed in my diet was I consumed some supermarket juices, such as Guava, Leeche and Mango juices. I am sure these juices have extra fructose added. Also prior to my fast I consumed both Kombucha and Kefir drinks, are they contributing to this new condition?

I also have stopped exercising, which I will start as soon as I feel 100%. I am planning to do another Liver-Flush in a week’s time.

Any answers will be appreciated.

Thank you.
