low Testosterone

I am a 59 year old male. I have had my testosterone checked twice in the last year. First time it was 216 and second time it was 224. I have resisted the synthetic hormone because of all of the things i have read about it! However- I am feeling the effects of low T. No ambition- not much sex drive. Don't really care about much. Depressed for no good reason. I have an appointment with a doctor next week that offers Bio- identical replacement. My insurance will not pay for this. Not even the office visit- even though this man is an MD. My question is- is it worth the money I am going to pay- sbout 250 dollars every 3 months if I continue this. Or is the bio identical stuff not much different than the synthetic. I don't think there is a natural substance that will bring me up to what I should be.
Any suggestions?
