ND, this post shows me that you are in the "treat the symptoms" mode with your sister in law.

The important thing is what is causing a problem, figure that and correct it and the symptom goes away.

Acidosis is the cause of all disease..  The blood must maintain 7.36 pH and will rob minerals in order to maintain proper pH.  One winds up in a precarious situation if this happens.
