Re: arsenic rice

A consumer reports profile of differing rice products reveals the arsenic findings, along with cadnium and lead.

Regardless of the fear surrounding arsenic, it's been used medically throughout history...

In Western medicine, before the development of penicillin, arsenic (the “silver bullet”) was used by Ehrlich to treat syphilis.

It was also the active agent in Fowler's solution, which was commonly used to control the leukocytosis in patients with chronic myelocytic leukemia.

In the 1990s, several studies reported the effective use of arsenic trioxide in achieving complete remission (CR) in patients with acute promyelocytic leukemia (APL) (Zhang et al., 52% CR, and Shen et al., 90% CR).

The implication is that arsenic trioxide can be used in clinical settings in which conventional chemotherapy cannot be used.

You're right, this info is not hard to find.
