Candida/CFS/M.E. sufferers: How contagious is it? Intimate relationships ok? Pets ok?
Hi, I was wondering what someone like myself dealing with advanced ME/CFS caused by severe long-term candidiasis (and possibly parasitic infection too as a cause for that, still researching as I am able to, but candida for sure) can do in terms of having a relationship.
Is it safe for my partner?
Kissing ok?
Vaginal/oral sex? (I don't care about sex too much if not, since my sex drive+ability is practically gone anyway.)
If no intimate relationship is possible, what about me getting a DOG so I don't go insane/end my life? :-p
Is there something she (or my dog) can take to super-boost their immune system or do whatever so that my gf (or dog) isn't susceptible to the candidiasis?
I wouldn't want to end up giving candidiasis to my dog if he/she licks my face one day or chews up something infected I have, primarily because I care too much for animals' well-being, plus I don't think I'll be able to afford the dog's additional VET BILLS/natural treatment to hopefully cure it/keep it under control while I still have it the infection.
This has been weighing on my mind more and more over time as my symptoms have been gradually worsening over the years and especially after discovering finally what my real condition is, with the help of this wonderful forum (and WITHOUT the so-called "help" from countless utterly incompetent medical Drs).
I have no idea if/when I'll ever get my life back. I'm already 34 and I just can't stand the thought of living while I have this issue not being able to have anyone special in my life out of concern for infecting them with the same ailment. I haven't had a girlfriend for like 7 or 8 yrs now, I've lost track. I just want to know what, if anything, is possible/safe or if I just need to continue on alone (in that sense) until I heal.
