Large (1 inch diameter) sebaceous cyst in face cheek remedies?

Hello peeps!

I have had a sebaceous cyst inside my right face cheek for about 6 years now. It started out small but is now 1 inch diameter (like a big grape) and although it is not noticeable to other people, I know it is there and am becoming very self-conscious about it.

I'm a girl by the way.

I had it drained once before (4 years ago) by a very incompetent doctor (was just a family friend who decided he could 'fix' it, and I stupidly believed him) from the inside of my mouth, risking having irreversible nerve damage (which I did not know at the time), only for the cyst to come back 2 weeks later. I was extremely lucky that this so-called cardiologist did not do any further damage.

Anywho, I went to a private plastic surgeon yesterday to talk about having it surgically removed and he repeatedly said I would have a big scar (1 inch) right across my cheek, some soft tissue indentation (which may or may not fill back up) and there is still the probable recurrence issue.

I am only 23 and would really really hate to have a scar across my face, if there is no guarantee that the cyst will not recur.

So I am now trying Castor Oil (after reading the amazing testimonials on this forum). I cleaned the surrounding area with Antiseptic soap, and then rubbed in some Castor oil directly and soaked a compress in more castor oil, and have that now attached to my cheek with a bandage over.

I will also try the heating pad method, by applying some heat for 20 mins on top of the bandage twice a day.

I was just wondering if anyone here could give me some advice or just some supportive words as I am really being brought down by this.

Sorry for the super long text and thank you for reading it.

xxx
