Re: what reactions do you get?
People will make it known when a person smells.
I've had people say as I'm passing by them.....
She stinks
It smells like poo
It smells like garbage
It smells like sewage
It smells like fart
People will sit at the opposite end of where I sit.
They'll rub their noses, sneeze, get the sniffles or cough.
I went to the vet the other day and the vet kept getting the sniffles. Then the vet said, "Oh wow." When the vet was done, he left the back door that connects to the lab open to get the circulation going. The door was closed before then.
People will talk to me with a smile and when I begin speaking, their smile will change to one of "ewww" and can see them holding their breath.
I walk into a room and shortly after people will begin sniffing the air.
Some people with super sensitive noses get sick around me because of the smell.
At work, the room where I work will gradually begin smelling and grows in intensity as the day goes by. I've left to go to the bathroom and when I come back, I smell poo or sewage in the room.
It affects our job. We keep our distance from people as much as possible so as not to stink their working area.
They'll start cutting your hours at work or the number of days you go into work even though you do a good job.
I've had to use shuttles when my car's getting fixed and people will have the sniffles. Once, someone must have said something because the driver asked me to sit in the front.
These things occur on a daily basis. It takes its toll on nearly every aspect of our lives emotionally, physically, psychologically, financially, and friendship wise.
Thank goodness for sites such as these. They make you realize you're not alone, have a support group, and find things the help alleviate and even cure the problem.
