Re: plug in earth products shouldn't be used in america or the uk?
The Earthing products manufacture has sold many thousands of items with very few incidents of stray ground activity, and to my understanding if there is an unpleasant feel to the product, it is nearly always due to some faulty wiring situation in the particular house. But to help eliminate that possibility they provide an outlet ground checker to know if the outlet does provide a good ground. But still there is always some small possibility of some "noise" from adjacent wiring even if your house is wired correctly. You will know as Earthing doesn't create a negative feel to it in anyway.
Plus the products all have a built in resistor to prevent unwanted current. Keep in mind Earthing doesn't involve electricity directly, even though the vast majority of products are connected to safe wall outlet grounds or to grounded computer power strip ground ports. This means if there was no house power, your Earthing product is still connected to the earth ground.
I am a small Earthing products retailer in a small town with over 500 customers, many of them are families with children. I have only had two reports of a negative nature and one involved a water bed and using the Earthing sheet. The solution was to use the provided Ground Rod instead of the wall outlet. The Ground Rod comes with a 40 foot cord.
Many of my customers now use the Earthing Ground Rod that comes with the Bed Sheet as their homes were built before 1960. The ground rod is an optional item with the Earthing Computer Mat, in other words is an extra purchase usually $27 or you can make your own. If you use the ground rod, you bypass the house electrical wall outlets and ground source and eliminate any possible electrical noise influence.
If you want to read the manufactures FAQs, it will answer a lot of questions.

By the way, the policy is if in 30 days you are not satisfied with the product, you can send it back for a full refund. Our experience is that in the first week, 80 % or more are convinced it works and is good for them....usually better sleep. And within 2 weeks more then 90% are convinced. I would say less then 5% are not sure if it is helping, but usually they are very healthy people who have little to improve.
But still it is provable to them that with a volt meter that they are grounded when touching the sheet or mat, and it is the exact same way as when you stand barefoot on the grass.
