PLEASE help my friend with Rheumatoid arthritis

Hello to anyone who can help!
My friend has terrible Rhematoid Arthritis. She has been on Methtrexate and other drugs for about 8 years now. She is getting horrible side effects now from these drugs ie: hair falling out, low immune system, skin yellowing, etc.
she is desperate to get off these drugs but cannot live with the terrible pain when she tries to wean off them.
Can anyone here suggest any safe natural treatments they have tried to alleviate bad RA or at least help with the pain?????
