I agree with PC--it will be much easier on you if you cleaned up your diet and cleared out your colon first. Since you have previously done a 5-day fast, what are your thoughts on how easy it was to do? Only you can decide how your body will handle a longer fast.

I cannot do a 40-day fast so I try to do 3-4 fasts/year of 14-21 days, depending on how my body feels and how quickly my tongue clears up. No problem when working. Initially, you may be tempted by the smell of food during those lunchtime meetings, but those days will past as your diet gets cleaner.

Alternatively, you can try Dr C's 3-day cleanse monthly. I have gotten some of my siblings and others to do this, but usually starting on a Friday or Saturday so they can have 2 weekend days in case they need to rest. They reported the first 2 days were a breeze, but the 3rd was too much for some who broke the fast 1/2 a day early. This cleanse was easy enough for them to want to try again. Most, at least, have been taking the lbb; the one that felt the most aggravation did not. And, yes, they do benefit from this short fast.
