Nail fungus
Hi, I have just found this forum and felt that my good/bad experiences may help others. For years I had suffered with very dry skin around my toes and heels, really itchy in the summer keeping me awake at night. I also had a nail fungus on roughly 8 of my toes. Fourteen months ago I decided that I had had enough and that I really needed to sort myself out. Today my feet are pink and I am tackling my last two nails (both on the mend, just havn't quite grown out). It has taken a very long time, trying loads of treatments but I am def on the right road now and starting to wear open toe sandals which is really lovely. I will list the things that did not work but in a nutshell what has worked for me is soaking my feet daily in Oilatum (I add a capfull to my shower with the plug in.) This helps to lock moisture into your skin, rather than your feet getting all dry, skin flaking etc. The results were so instant I couldn't belive it, no more flaking, no more itching etc. I do wonder if having generally healthier skin has also helped my nails? As for my toe nails my 'must have' is simply a pot of Vicks and some cotton buds (Vicks contains a natural ingredient that happens to love nail fungus, you can read about it on the web). I have now used 1/3 of a pot, putting on each nail several times a day with a clean bud end. Results are amazing and extremely quick, the worst two nails have sort of been killed off, falling away ready to grow again, other nails that had a slight white look to them are going back to a pinky colour. I am now hopeful that within the next few months all signs will be gone after 20 years of suffering :) (Treatments that did not work for me included painting my nails with household bleach (how desperate is that!), soaking in apple cider vinegar and coating in listerine). Good luck everybody, dont give up, you will get there in the end :)
