Re: I somehow made my situation worse

After a fast or medical procedure that requires fasting beforehand, doctors recommend eating broth, jello, and toast. The stomach is not used to digesting heavy foods like meat. After the first day, then you can slowly incorporate things like apple sauce, puddings, cooked veggies and a little lean meat.

Sounds like your stomach ache could have been from several factors. First, you ate meat after a fast and that's hard to digest. Secondly, you took a laxative after a fast and that's kind of harsh on the system to begin with. Lastly, you hadn't gone to the bathroom 7 days before or after the fast. The laxative plus not going to the restroom for a week or more will cause terrible cramping.

Can you drink prune juice instead of taking a laxative?
Prune juice is good to take occasionally but if you take it on a daily basis, it stops working.
