Real future treatments
Its pretty obvious right now none of the creams and tonics work. Even lasers can only get moderate improvement and they are very expensive maybe dangerous long term burning your skin. I asked a very experienced doctor with 20+ years experience in lasers and he said lasers do not remove stretch marks they just moderately improve them.
Stretch marks are damage to the dermis of the skin which is the extracellular matrix of skin. It seems injections of something like fibroblasts which know how to repair the dermal layer of skin or some method of using dermal stem cells could fix stretch marks by repairing the dermal layer which means rebuilding the collagen and elastin fibers. Those are more like real solutions. None of this crap people talk about works at all I doubt any of those creams even get to the dermis even with that stupid roller thing to punch holes in your skin or whatever it does.
At least there are some places doing real research on this such as these guys -
http://www.med.umich.edu/derm/research/res_stretchmarks.shtml. Without knowing at the molecular level how stretch marks form there is no way you can ever effectively treat them we dont even understand how they happen.
Most of the sites are just pushing unproven creams since its just cosmetic with no FDA proof required. Lots of websites are outdated or just flat out wrong about some of it.
So what are your thoughts on future treatments since its obvious right now there are no real sensible ones?
