Believe iodine cured my son's bedwetting

My son, with very few exceptions, has always wet the bed. He recently turned 12. He has also always had enlarged tonsils. I learned that there is sometimes a connection between chronically enlarged tonsils and bedwetting. But what to do about the tonsils??? I never wanted to have my son's tonsils removed as I know they are an important part of the immune system. For example, I've read that paralytic polio was only ever seen in kids who'd had their tonsils removed.

Recently, I got reading Dr Brownstein's book on Iodine and also unrefined Sea Salt . I started my son on the lowest dose of Iodine I could find. He initially had trouble taking even the RDA - 150mcg would make him sleepy. After four months he is now taking 2.5mg without ill-effect. We have also actively tried to avoid bromine containing foods - most USA bread products, fruity sodas/gatorade and pesticide sprayed foods. In the last four months since starting the Iodine he has only wet twice and it was after eating good quality hotdogs (if there is such a thing) at birthday parties which made him very ill. I now understand hotdogs may be loaded with a bromine substance to make the hotdog skins red. Some meats are now being treated with bromine wash as a sterilzing agent. Anyway, my son's tonsils have for the first time in his entire life returned to normal size and he no longer wets the bed. He is also more alert and not so "spaced out" as he often used to be. He is doing much better in school. His dad's chronically enlarged tonsils have shrunk on the iodine too.

I would encourage people to go and do some research on it. The iodine has been the hardest health thing we have done and if you try it, you need to be prepared for adverse effects that might happen initially. If people are toxic for bromine, there may be some bumps along the way. The iodine seems to block the bromine and may push some people into a toxic state. With the hotdogs, my son had severe abdominal pain and trouble breathing. You will be disgusted to learn how much bromine is in our food and environment. By law, mattresses are treated with flame retardants, many containing toxic bromine damaging your thyroid while you sleep. Sea Salt loading can be helpful to get bromine levels down and help the adrenals work better. It might make for smoother ride to start some salt loading for a few weeks first to get bromine levels down. Sometimes we take a break from the iodine to let our bodies catch up from the detox generated. Be prepared that it can take several years to restore iodine levels. If you're an adult with gallstones, be prepared to have your gallbladder start trying to release stones if you start the iodine. The body will start cleaning house!

Anyway, after four months, we consider our son cured of his bedwetting and felt happy to put forward this testimony. However, I do still consider ourselves learners and inexperienced to give advice. Just want to encourage people to go and read and learn.
