New Folliculitis Decalvans-can I work?

Hi all I have recently been diagnosed with Decalvans and it is of the staph variety-I am a nurse that works in surgery and have not been working for 2 months-now short term disability is denying my claim as they think I can work!! I am already sick with the scalp itchiness, burning, lesions, lymph nodes swelling, weeks of Antibiotics etc and now and stressed to the max about work-I am having a hard time-mentally and physically-please please let me know I am not alone and any advice regarding work would help!!
