looking for support

I have had Depression since I was eight years old (I am now
26) and in the past few years have been learning more and more about the way physical health and mental health are related. I've recently come off anti-depressants and am trying to rid myself of imbalances through the use of vitamins and supplements as well as diet.

Currently, I am taking Vitamin B-complex and St. John's Wort for the depression, but my whole body seems to be out of whack, and I have gained 40 pounds in the past year.

Seems like the better I try to eat, the quicker I gain the weight. I find it frustrating because my doctor has tested my thyroid (using the standard test, which I am now reading is totally unreliable) and found it fine, and has also tested me for hypoglycaemia (another unreliable test) in which I came out normal.

I just had my food allergies tested yesterday and it turns out I am sensitive to dairy, gluten, eggs, Sugar and even soya, amongst other things. I have been monitoring what I've eaten in the past few weeks and I find that wheat not only gives me headaches, but makes me suicidal.

I guess what I am looking for is support from people who are going through similar experiences and having success with methods of nutrition and supplements.

I have been doing a lot of reading and am feeling very overwhelmed with the number of things that could be wrong with my body and causing my Depression (thyroid, adrenals, parasites, unstable blood sugar, food allergy , malabsorption, depleted brain chemistry...).

I don't know where to start!! Hopefully those of you who read this will begin to post again and support each other (and me :} )

Thanks for listening!

Adieu,
Aerriel
