Re: Is it possible to be THIS iodine deficient?
I dont think
Iodine is involved in this at all. The amounts from salt is FAR to little to start a detox.
Headache in general is a sign of salt deficiency IMO.
My take is that you have starved your body for salt so long that the adrenals are out of shape.
" would become extremely weak, lethargic, spacey, drowsy, and feel hot afterwards" is more adrenal symptoms than thyroid / iodine. Interesting about the increase in temperature, but again it point to adrenals that start to wake up.
My mother that was very low salt for several years had terrible problems with her kidney. In the beginning when she started up salt again, she also noticed the kidney pain you mention.
Now when she has salt in all her water and loads in her food she has no kidney pain at all, but it took some time.
I would advice you to hit the salt box hard asap. And up vit c to several grams, as these two will help the adrenals / kidneys to handle the iodine.
Magnesium is nothing to wait for; it is involved in adrenals big time
Some vit B is needed too.
I advice to do the whole
Iodine protocol, not only parts of it.
