There is some validity to what you are saying but you hafta abandon that locked in very narrow paranoid train of thought about that government "shoving it down our throats" or at the very least keep it in check cause there are much bigger implicating dynamics that fall outside of that myopic train of thought. We have no other more efficient "realistic" means to affect change other than playing the govt game and I'll reiterate what I said in my post below:
"No one knows what the long term effect of this bill will be and as I stated in my other post below that in the very basic spectrum of a larger picture, it is a move that is forcing the gov't to take a closer look just from the magnitude of it's game changing effect. Whether it's in the ideal format only time will tell but it is motion in the direction of "change and evolution".
And no one else and certainly not the other side has had any other specific plans or strategies that would shake the apple cart this much. Forget the foreign countries just go look at the health care system in Hawaii that has many parallels to this bill and it has been wildly successful for a number of years and just let this thing ferment a bit a see where it goes.
