Patty's Poem - Rest in Peace
Today is My sister Patty's birthday. She died of cancer in 1997 after a long battle of brain cancer. She sent me this plague to tell me how much she appreciated me. I just wanted to repost this in honor of her brave struggle with this horrible disease. I miss you Patty and you are never out of our thoughts. Rest in Peace oh one of light.
You're such a special sister,
but I've come to realize
The reasons that I love you
go beyond our family ties.
Your're someone I confide in
and can tell my troubles to.
It always makes a difference
knowing I can count on you.
From the time that we were little,
we've shared secrets, hopes and dreams.
gentle tears and laughter
and yet through the years it seems
We just keep grownng closer
since those days of "let's pretend,"
For you're more than just my sister--
you've become my lifelong friend.
