Diatomaceous Earth questions.

I have read alot about this and have a ton of it (5 Pounds) in my house, Perma Guard to be exact which I read is the best. Is this safe long term? Will it irritate the stomach at all since it kills insects? I want to use it reading all the health claims as it sounds amazing! I just don't want that to come at the expense of health long term.

I can't find studies long term on this nor know anyone personally who has used it long term, so I have no clue personally if it is safe or what effects are long term. I would appreciate input from anyone who has used this before or currently does and see if any side effects were noted. The thing is how do we know long term if it's safe if we have no evidence? Sure we can do it ourselves but...........
