Should I have a Mirena fitted?

Hi all,
I'm new to this site and this is my first post.

I have had severe vaginal bleding for some time now, 8 weeks ago I had polyps removed but didnt fix the problem. Yesterday I went to my GYN and he suggested I have a Mirena fitted......i felt comfortable with this so have made a tentative appointment and said I would come home and do some research.......I have read a few of your posts and am now terrified.........are there any good reports of this device or should I try to find another solution.
