Re: Beet Juice and Urine Color

Well although this is normal for most people, it is not normals for optimal health.

Although one would think it was due to the color of the veggies, this is actually not the cause.

It is due to most people being low in hydrochloric acid

here are some quotes and links for more on this.

Interestingly, I have this beet thing like most people and a doctor said I have silent reflux and need more acid but I did not agree. I have undigested food in the stool and someone told me taking hydrochloric acid would help that and when I remember to, it seems better.

If I have too much hydrochloric acid like doctors say people with relux do, then I would not have red urine or feces when consuming beets. so this helps tell me he is wrong.

Some say those with heartburn, reflux, etc actually do not have too much acid but too low and the doctors drug then would make that even worst.

If Victoria Boutenko is right and the women is a brilliant researcher who I believe, then I an right to take digestive enzymes and try to increase hydrochloric acid.

I dont think I have enough to digest my foods as despite an excellent diet, I dont feel well like I feel I should in light of what I eat.

Here are some excerpts of what I saw online n this topic explaining why it is changing color and how to rectify it.

"I too read in Victoria B's book that the pink color from beets was due to low hydrochloric acid in the stomach. When people took hydrochloric pills with meals, over time, the color goes away, or they consumed a lot of greens in green smoothies." one person

"Victoria Boutenko talks about that in the above book. She says that this is a symptom of depleted stomach acid, and is easily rectified. Including greens in your diet is supposed to be helpful, but you may need to supplement at first with hydrocloric (sp?) acid tablets from the health food store. I have never tried this, but there are instructions in the book on how to figure out whether you need to do this, how to figure out how much to take and for how long." person 2

"In the book Green for Life by Victoria Boutenko, she says that red stools and urine means that your stomach acid is low and she conducted a study with her family which included evryone drinking green smoothies and beet juice everyday for months. At the beginning of the experiment everyones secretions were red but after two months the secretions were a normal color and they conducted tests that showed that the stomach acid had gotten stronger. Therefore the increased consumption of vegetable juices corrected the deficiency so what do you guys think?" person 3

"Victoria Boutenko speaks about this in Green for Life. It means you have low stomach acid. She has a chapter on Hypochlorhydria (low levels of hydrochloric acid). Very interesting read. I highly recommend the book. In the Roseburg study, which was 1 quart of green smoothies for 30 days, they found that 66.7% of the participants showed vast improvement in their production of HCL." person 4
