Re: More Dangerous to Remove Fillings?????? I'm so confused!
Get them out ASAP.
Taking care of mercury toxicity is a two step process which must be done in order. The first step is to remove the source of mercury from your body and the second is the chelate out the mercury which is already inside of you.
Please impress upon your friend that (1) heavy metal tests are of questionable accuracy at best and (2) it's dangerous to chelate (remove heavy metals) while silver fillings are still in. The chelator will pull mercury from out of a person's fillings and make their situation worse.
The main hazard with filling removal is the likelihood that you will receive an increased dose of mercury during replacement. This can be reduced by a dentist who takes precautions to protect you from mercury during replacement. The fact that your dentist acknowledges the danger that silver fillings pose is a good sign. You should ask what kind of precautions he takes during such a procedure.
This risk of receiving a higher dose of mercury during replacement is overshadowed by the dangers of leaving the fillings in and continuing to have a slow buildup of mercury for the rest of your life. This is in addition to the damage done by the mercury already in your body which you won't be able to chelate out as long as you have your fillings in.
I highly recommend, based upon my research and experience, that you replace your fillings and begin a systematic program of chelation as soon as you can (though, I suggest you find out as much as you can about chelation before you begin chelating).
