What to do after Mirena?

I need some advice. I am 33 years old and have been married for 13 years. We have two beautiful boys and do not plan on having any more as I have a hard time getting pregnant and am extremely uncomfortable during pregnancy because of scoliosis. I have had a Mirena IUD for over 4 years. I have always had irregular periods and the doctors told me that doubt I ovulate more than a couple times a year which is why I started on Mirena to keep my uterus cleaned out to ward off pre-cancerous cells. In the last year I have noticed extreme vaginal dryness and irritation and monthly migraines right before my period. I have been contemplating having it removed anyway, but after reading this website I really want it done. I have an appointment with my GYN in July and will have it removed before my symptoms get any worse.

My question is, because of my irregular cycle, what can I do for birth control? Before I had kids I was on the pill but had begun to notice that I was reacting to the hormones in even the mild pills. Are there any non-hormonal options that would take care of the irregular cycles?
