Re: why smart people are stupid
An unconscious and conditioned mind can never be truly intelligent.
"more than fifty per cent of students at Harvard, Princeton, and M.I.T. gave the incorrect answer to the bat-and-ball question."
Because school has everything to do with programming and nothing to do with intelligence. I would say by definition; the more conditioned a mind is the less intelligent it is. Most of those people are the spoiled rich kids who weren't exactly stupid, but certainly not bright or special in any way shape or form save for the fact mommy and daddy could pay their way through college.
Still, given the above, it is appalling that 50% of those people would still give the wrong answer. The question gives itself away and the misdirection is obvious.
I find it interesting that the first thing that came to my mind was "where is the other ball?" I expected it to be a sexua| joke associating a bat and two balls with a dollar and 2 coins. I guess that is my conditioning...
