A true story...

...An elderly man had a small rock shop beside his house in our town. There, he cut and polished and studied pretty rocks.

One day we were chatting and he told me of a memory from his childhood...

He had been very ill at age nine, and in hospital.

He remembered hearing angelic voices singing. The voices and the music were so beautiful that he longed for the rest of his life to hear them again.

The old man cried a tear or two as he told me this story.

I wouldn't be surprised to hear that he has passed away by now...and I wouldn't be surprised that he went to his heavenly choir.

Ever since he told me I have believed that we all go to the fulfillment of our fondest dreams.

...Everyone...including axe murderers. (I just can't see why anyone should be excluded on my sayso.)

A thought like this is a fine warm blanket to wrap oneself in...to fall asleep at night.

My best,

Fledgling
