This would be true in a constitutional society, but where there is fiat money, decisions are not made using monetary value as a reference, because in a fiat system when government wants more money, it can just borrow it into existence. There can accordingly be no incentive to save money, except to maintain appearances. The purpose of fiat money, is social control.
And the fact that these men's issues and many others aren't addressed from the standpoint of curing, but rather only treating, is a tacit statement that "the system" really doesn't give a shlt about individuals's health.
