Re: Iodine die off? Question about selenium.
Maybe something in that "real salt", a quarter teaspoon is only about 1 1/4 grams of salt. I bet there's that much in a small bag of potato chips, so its kind of trivial amount. I tried some kind of hand-harvested salt once and it made me feel queezy so I never touched it again.
When I used to do
Iodine supplementing in the early days, I didn't do salt pushes. Instead, I just ate a big can of chicken soup with a little extra salt added. And I was always drinking a bunch of water anyhow.
Canned soup is a favorite of mine, I dump in a couple handfuls of chicken hearts, a little azafran, boil it a little and throw in more fresh vegetables of my choice. A quick, healthy meal, more or less depending on what I put in it. I'm going to try deli roast beef inside a can of progresso onion soup and throw in some sliced potatoes. Am I making you hungry yet ? lol But seriously, soup is a great way to "salt push", in my opinion.
