Any bacteriologists or biologists who can help?

i got a crazy idea into my head which arose after i became suspicious that these probiotics i had purchased were dead.

i read that beetroot juice is a great medium for growing lactobaccili and other probiotics so i opened two of the probio 7 capsules and emptied the contents into lukewarm 500ml of Beet it beet juice.

i kept it in the oven on the lowest setting over night and today, after 18 hours, it had a distinctly sour taste which was quite exciting.

now my question is, what do you think the rate of growth would have been?

there is no indication of how many CFUs there are in each capsule but the bacteria it contains are:

lactobacillus acidophilus, L. casei, L. bulgaricus, L. lactis, streptococcus thermophilus, bifidobacterium bifidum, and B. longum

would a good way of increasing CFUs be to grow bacteria cultures in beetroot juice or would some of the bacteria be consumed or denatured by the others?

i sterilised all of my utensils and i made sure they were kept at a constant temperature.

any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!
