Do I Need Surgery? Help...!
Here is info from past and recent labs, plus brief med history.
PTH: 35
Ionized calcium: 5.6
Serum calcium: 10.9
Symptoms: GI problems (unusual for me), extreme hip, back and joint pain, nausea at random times, headaches, dizziness, memory/concentration issues, random spells of
Depression and anxiety, difficulty functioning even with sleep, easily tired muscles/weakness where I cannot hold even small amounts of weight, yellowed feet and hands, etc.
HUGE ALERT: LUMP NEAR PARATHYROID GLAND. It is EXTREMELY painful and pulses deep within my neck when I eat cold foods or when I have PMS, or at other random times... very bad. It is literally right where one parathyroid gland is located in the neck, the lower right one.
I am very urgently wondering: Do you, any of you who have had the disease and even surgery, feel I could be a candidate for hyperparathyroidism surgery? Doctor is a FLAKE who will not call me back for whatever reason, so unprofessional and I have largely had to diagnose myself, based on info on parathyroid.com I have all the labs that match up with this disease, not to mention the symptoms as well.
I want to go to the Norman center for the possible operation, but the consult is 1600 dollars - even if they reject you! This is why I REALLY need input from people who have dealt with this to avoid spending all that and getting rejected for God's knows why. I have a feeling I will be accepted but due to my doctor refusing to just TELL me that yes, I do have the disease, I am scared to start contacting the thyroid center. What is your opinion on this, anyone? THANKS IN ADVANCE!!!!
