Re: Autoimmune

You make valid points, but I’m unsure of the theory of inflammation at a deeper level in my case. I did get a broad overall body inflammation test over a year ago ( a c-reactive protein test, among others) and it showed up negative. I did feel at the time that I needed a more intensive tests but didn’t follow it up. So while I couldn’t rule out inflammation, I feel overall toxicity may play a greater role in my particular case. Detoxification does indeed boost immune defence, but also does what I mentioned in other posts, including lessening the load on liver, kidneys & other eliminatory orgnans of toxic stuff; unburdens lymphatic system, as well as just lessening toxicity in whole body.

Some of the things you mention that help you boost the immune system, are, like I mentioned in the last post, effective in treating digestive problems. So these in effect could also be dealing with potential enemies (e.g. bad bacteria, fungi etc) as opposed to just strengthening your immune defence directly.

Oxidation/oxidative stress as a cause of the flaking. like you put forward, is also a possibility. I began taking Resveratrol capsules (a potent antioxidant) over two months ago. I mentioned in my very first post on this forum that I had also been taking propolis (another antioxidant) tincture for many months before my condition improved. I did change to a stronger propolis product (high potency propolis liquid (50%) by Bee Health) a few months back. Who knows, maybe the resveratrol and propolis together both had major impacts on my improvements, if oxidation/oxidative stress is indeed a potential cause in the flaking. Both may be worth trying in your case if you/your dermatologist believe oxidation as a potential cause.

Edit: i presumed when you talked of oxidation you were referring to oxidative stress. I have since seen, having looked it up, that oxidation is a different thing to oxidative stress. You may be referring to something different to oxidative stress. But i have come across oxidative stress before in relation to health and wouldn't be surprised if it was involved. Antioxidants such as resveratrol and propolis help tackle oxidative stress. Don't know about oxidation.
