Re: Mercury In Corn Syrup

The average american consumes 12 teaspoons of high fructose corn syrup a day, which is about 60ml. The density of corn syrup is 1.36 grams/mL.

So the average american is consuming 81 grams of high fructose corn syrup a day. At the highest contamination level they measured, .57 µg/g mercury was present. So 81 grams of high fructose corn syrup would yield 46.5 µg of mercury a day.

So the average american would be consuming 46.5 µg of mercury a day.

And that is the average american. What about all the soda pup guzzling, Sugar addicted youth?
