Re: O/T Could some of you on these forums help this girl somehow?
I don’t have Lyme, but at one time thought I might have a Lyme co-infection, so I researched it. Below are some of my notes on it:
Japanese Knotweed, cat's claw, teasel and colloidal silver –

herb sources for the treatment protocol outlined in the book Healing Lyme by Stephen Harrod Buhner.
Japanese Knotweed (Resveratrol) – CORE PROTOCOL
indications: prevention, acute onset, Bartonella co-infections, antispirochetals, neuroborreliosis, Lyme neurotoxins, memory and cognitive dysfunction, Lyme arthritis, dermatoborreliosis, Lyme carditis (with palpitations and shortness of breath), immune modulation, headaches, reducing Herxheimer reactions
450 mg capsules, wild-crafted: Green Dragon Botanicals*
purchase it from: Green Dragon Botanicals
*Recommended by Stephen Buhner. He says, “I’m working to shift people to the Green Dragon Botanicals Japanese knotweed root and away from the Source Naturals resveratrol. The Source Naturals will work but I really do prefer the whole wildcrafted root as a medicine.”

Stephen spoke about that in the book. He says the study on TOA free cats claw was poorly done and there is no evidence that TOA free is better. Usually Stephen believes in using the whole plant.

Fish Oil: Use "Marine Omega" by Pharmanex. Use four daily, taken on a full stomach (this brand is required because it is made not from fish, but from Krill and is certified to be free of any measurable amounts of heavy metals and organic toxins).

Also, have any of you heard of Dr. Eva Sapi?
Google her. She had Lyme and said, she cured herself with Samento, Banderol, Burbur & Pinella and NO antibiotics. I know that is the Byron White protocol, but it is definitely worth mentioning and maybe incorporating some of it into the Buhner protocol.
Buhner protocol (based on it)

I'm boiling for one hour
60 grams of cat's claw,
40 grams of Japanese Knotweed,
30 grams of Red Root,
40 grams of Sarsaparilla/Smilax,
and 80 grams of Stephania Root.
After one hour, I'm supposed to simmer it for another hour. My doctor said she was basing this on Dr. Buhner's protocol. She gave me this recommendation after I said I couldn't afford the tinctures I was taking, saying that drinking tea is a much cheaper way to go.

Magnesium Malate & Aspartate - don't feed Lyme Z- you should look for good magnesium malate to take. other types can feed lyme type infections, a real issue. AOR has a really good product, and there is a cheaper (less potent brand) but the name escapes me right now...
John is right, the only safe Mag is Mag Malate and Mag Asparatate all else feeds L-Form bacteria which is pretty much Lyme and co-infections..
Colloidal Silver will help some...
Because Mag speeds the reproductive cycle of L-Form bacteria. Same reason most are Mag deficient, also why Salt Treatment can aid in Lyme by removing the Mag.
Mag in properly made Mag Malate (Source Naturals, AOR) cannot be used for that. Mag Asparatate, usually bundled with Potassium also will not be used for that...

Lyme Disease and Japanese Knotweed
Japanese Knotweed (Polygonum cuspidatum) is considered to be one of the main herbs that can help lower, or even eliminate, lyme (specifically leptospira and treponema denticola) spirochetes loads in the body, support the innate immune function to help respond to the borrelia infection, and treat some of the symptoms of Lyme disease including central nervous system confusion, arthritic and bacterial inflammation, protects against endotoxin damage, reduce Herxheimer reactions and is a cardio-protector.1
Also, knotweed enhances blood flow to difficult-to-reach areas and helps other herbs and/or drugs, and the body's own response to kill the spirochetes that reside in these specifically difficult-to-reach areas.
Stephen Harrod Buhner (expert in the field and author of Healing Lyme) states that Japanese Knotweed can also help to treat the following as are specifically associated with Lyme Disease: "Neuroborreliosis, bulls-eye rash, acarodermatitis chronica atrophicans, low immune function spirochete infection, Lyme arthritis, endothelial damage from Lyme and Lyme coinfections, cardiac involvement, post-Lyme-disease syndrome, bartonella coinfection."2
