Chelation of heavy metals..need info

Of course Ive read the snips here and there about how Lugols chelates heavy metals, but I am wanting more info. Im wondering if the symptoms I am having are due to heavy metals.

What heavy metals exactly does Lugols chelate? Does Lugols chelate the heavy metals and then they are free to redistribute?
Is it the lugols that chelates or the iodine?


Where can I read any hard Science on this subject?

Has anyone here confirmed that lugols does chelate heavy metals (have you tested before and after or had any firm proof of such?)
