I had long sessions (2-4 hours, continuously or with very short breaks) with my Philips infrared lamp for a few days.
Yesterday morning, after turning it on for about one minute, the lamp burned out. (Fortunately, the shop where I bought the unit has a 10-day guarantee and I was able to exchange for a new one.)
Is the lamp burnout due to chance or was it because infrared lamp is not supposed to be turned on for a long time, like what I did? (The lamp has an estimated life of 500 hours and comes with a 2-year warranty. The manual doesn't say the lamp cannot be used for long sessions.)
