All very interesting research and discussion. Something has gone haywire and with a sclerotic medical community working on our case (god bless the med students though!), and with so many prescribed chemical treatments making conditions worse in the long run, we're going to have to figure this out on our own.

I'm going to continue seeking natural and lifestyle-change based cures. After visiting a naturopath today to get my Antinuclear Antibody (ANA) test and allergy testing started, I mentioned hyaluronic acid as a possible topical that some had tried. She said it would be worth a try, but it's a fairly weak moisturizer, and I should get the 100% serum if I try it.

What she recommended more was to take orally ch-OSA, a form of silica that is important for collagen production. She also recommended a paleolithic/ Elimination Diet to address possible allergies, auto-immune issues, and gastrointestinal issues while we wait for the lab results at the end of the month.

So off I go again on a new experiment. After so many treatments and diets, I am ready to put everything into this round -- following the diet strictly, re-introducing foods gradually, and tackling my stress levels as well with more exercise and breathing work.

Last night I realized that as much as this condition is a cruel curse, I should also thank my body for showing me signs that something was really wrong . . . and snapping me out of complacency with being unhealthy. After all, I would never have known about my Candida overgrowth and brought it under control, or ended my alcohol abuse, if it weren't for this condition.

Gotta stay positive -- defeatism is our greatest enemy. Things could always be worse. And they have been worse, and I am convinced they will get better.
