Recently I've been experimenting with HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training)
I have found it a problem re-gaining my fitness after fasting, and I've only been doing HIIT for a week but already I feel a very marked improvement in my physical and mental health.
I've been doing it 2 ways:
1.Cycle for 15 mins to warm up, turn around to come home and on the way home do 3-4 20 second bursts at 100% effort, separated by a few minutes to recover my breath. I use my watches timer to measure the 20 seconds each time.
2.At work - walk to the top floor (9 stories) as quick as possible. Done after my 1 hour lunch break where I walk round town for an hour to warm up.
I used to cycle at a moderate pace for 1-1.5 hours, but I don't think that was enough to recover from the extremes of dry fasting.
HIIT is much quicker and seems to give much better results.
