Re: Feeling good dry fasting. almost in day 3
Hi Fasting.now,
Great job on reaching this point in your fast.
I've never drunk very much water whilst fasting, and never wanted to drink any, really; but this is the first time I have had the "courage" to listen to my body and say no to the water that so many ppl (fearfully, it seems) push on one in such large quantities during a fast. What a relief and an achievement to say no.
Yes it is very freeing to learn that we don't have to force feed ourselves water that we are not thirsty for. The misinformation about this in the mainstream is quite rampant but the pros in the fasting realm know that it's best to drink only to thirst which means not drinking at all if we are not thirsty. Our body will speak to us when it needs water. Thirst becomes a powerful and undeniable manifestation.
And P.S. I met a guy once who had gone for 28 days on a solo camping trip in the Australian Outback with no food or water. i so wish i had asked him whether he meant that he had taken a 28-day dry fast. I have to admit that remained unclear to me.
Usually when somebody says this they mean they are not bringing anything and intend to live off the land through hunting, fishing and drinking from nature. I expect this is what he means.
Obviously it is highly possible for just about everyone to water fast for a long time... actually that is all that really matters to me...
Absolutely true. 30+ days is fairly common.
Again, do not comment with hate or "caution," or fear (as in, "oh, I am so glad you're going to drink water eventually"
This being a dry fasting forum, i believe you're in pretty safe territory. I for one know that you will drink water eventually because at some point (i don't know where) the thirst will become so strong you will otherwise want to jump out of your skin. Contrary to popular belief, it is safe to abstain from water when we are not thirsty... so enjoy : ).
