BO and Anxiety

New poster here. Looks like my nightmare is similar to that of many around here. I’m also a consultant and wind up meeting many new people to further make things worse! I had a few questions and hopefully I can get some help here. I wanted to give an overview of my problem, things I’ve tried, and then several questions (sorry for the length). I do have normal hygiene including at least one shower daily, using deodorant, and wearing clean clothes daily.

I’ve been suffering from BO for over 25 years. It seems to be all over the body, although like many of you I can’t really smell myself. I have seen my GP, dermatologists, an endocrinologist, and a gastroenterologist. None of them really helped. My GP diagnosed me with Hyperhidrosis, and mild OCD/Social anxiety. I’ve been prescribed Drysol and other topical solutions, and internal medications that reduce the amount of sweating, and lastly occasional chlorine baths to battle the hyperhidrosis. I was prescribed medication for the anxiety but stopped taking it because of the side effects (it was mainly prescribed because of a panic attack, but I haven’t had any since). I had a colonoscopy done but that test was fine. So basically I’ve had little help doctor wise on finding a solution.

I have noticed that the sweating has decreased quite a bit, but the odor hasn’t so it’s not just the hyperhidrosis. Other things I have tried include Chlorophyll, Zinc, Magnesium, Colon cleansers, Vinegar, and over the counter stuff like Deodorite. None of this has helped any.

Now here are my questions:

I’m starting to wonder if the anxiety is causing the issue. Has anyone with social anxiety every cured the BO by using anxiety medication or by Yoga/Meditation? I’d rather avoid the anxiety meds, but if it does cure the BO sign me up.

Has using a sauna daily helped anyone, and to what extent?

I’m thinking of going back to see a colon specialist. Has anyone cured the BO by seeing a colon specialist and what treatment was given? As I mentioned, I tried using a colon cleanser once which didn’t seem to help.

Is there any specialist/doctor that I haven’t mentioned that has helped someone? Even a Nutritionist with BO treatment knowledge?

Any over the counter products that actually work (that have a money back guarantee, as I’ m sick of paying for stuff that doesn’t work).

Thank you for any information in this battle.
