Re: Day 2 Master Cleanse: Blue Fingers?
The first 3 to 4 days are usually the worst as your GI tract empties itself of solids and your system is working its way into ketosis at which point somewhere around day 3 or 4 real hunger should subside.
As stated in the thread just below this "All" forms of fasting slow the metabolism so feeling colder than usual is just an inherent effect of "fasting". Personally I will not fast in the winter for that reason."
Caffeine withdrawal is a known issue when fasting and can cause headaches, nausea etc. The wisdom is to taper off caffeine completely before attempting to fast.
All forms of fasting are cleanses so the system will start releasing toxins It is not uncommon that more toxins get released than the system can handle and cause a Herxheimer reaction which can be anything from discomfort to really bad reactions. Again the wisdom is to gradually wean off bad foods and alcohol before attempting to fast. The longer one sticks to mostly raw foods and fresh veggie juices pre fast the better as this will start system detoxing gradually.
Keeping things moving out is of prime importance when fasts. The consensus that the most efficient way to keep things flowing out is to drink a laxative herbal tea before bed and doing the Salt Water Flush (SWF) 1st thing in the morning on an empty stomach. 1st line of defense when feeling bad is to start drinking lots of water to keep the toxins diluted and moving out.
