Dancin' without socks
Hi Neighbors,
Little happy-dance testimonial about shedding my socks like MH suggested.
I've read MH for months and thought the idea of going out without socks, or walking barefoot, sounded wacky. That's because for decades I've had cold feet. Every night, prying off my lace-up shoes and socks, my feet would get bad cramps. Then for most of the year my feet were so cold I couldn't sleep, like cold right to the bone up to the knee. I would soak them in hot water, ginger juice, massages, tap dancing, lots of socks, one winter even slathered them in cocoa butter and slept in PLASTIC GARBAGE BAGS pulled up to the waist. They still looked yellow-gray and felt cold. One friend said "Maybe it's pre-diabetic neuropathy and you need meds NOW before you die of gangrene."
Well.
Finally I saw someone wearing rubber sandals (Crocs) and went right out and bought a pair. The temp is officially freezing now here, 32 F, but I'm still in these sandals for the past month! Even walking barefoot outside when I get home at night! All day my feet feel SO alive. I sit at my desk barefoot, flexing my toes hard, practicing to pick up a pencil with them some day and take dictation!
But best of all at night, wow, I can't believe it. They are so HOT they keep waking me up! Little toasters.
Now imagine what a miracle if I put down these chocolate peanuts and followed any of MH's OTHER advice.
I will, I will. But this is a surprising start. I would never ever have believed it, but it's true.
Much gratitude,
Autumn, twinkletoes
